The Civil Partnership and Wedding of Dogie (Duncan) & Rod (Rodney) was a superb event and truly lived up to expectations being worthy of the planning, organisation, negotiations, and financial outlay! As MC for the day I had the honour of making sure things went ahead to a timetable and all the elements of the day coming together! Actually feeling more nervous that at our own day, I was aware of the responsibilities such a role brings with it! It's for others to judge as to how I carried out those responsibilities but I can honestly say I tried my best! Seeing Walter, Marco and Doreen was an extra treat although I would have loved to have more time with them to catch up on all the happenings but that was not to be!
The Craws Nest Anstruther was the venue for the Wedding Breakfast and evening celebration and I have written to them a "thank you note" for going that extra mile and having staff who worked so hard in making the arrangements happen! Excellent!
Frank and I booked into the Craw's Nest and wandered into the "Dreel Inn" for dinner. Lovely old inn where Rod's mum works occasionally. Food was fine with a starter of Mussels (really a taster rather than a starter with 6 mussels to tempt you to have it as a main course the next time); a rather thick and unrecognisable puree of vegetables present as the soup of the day but us both having excellent sirloin steaks! Skipped puddings as I suspected they might be a "Brake Brother" delivery!
Back to the hotel guest arriving and family mingling with some apprehensions about "this is my first Civil Partnership" funny that it was Doogie & Rod's as well! By the early hours of the morning a group remained and Sandy (who was to read the cards to the couple the next day) suggested we introduce ourselves and say something about how we felt! GREAT idea and plenty of ammunition for later on in the day!
